Holding the Moment

New Public Art Exhibit – Beginning November 1, 2020 – May 31, 2021

Holding The Moment – COVID-19 changed lives everywhere – locally, nationally, and internationally. The Arts and individual artists are among the most severely impacted. In response, the City of San Jose’s Public Art Program partnered with Mineta San Jose International Airport to offer local artists an opportunity to reflect on the global crisis and current challenging times. Ninety-six artworks by 77 San Jose artists were chosen, awarded a prize, and a place in the six-month art exhibition in Terminal B Arrival Halls. Video Still.

The video still seen on the left was part of a project filmed at a Sprouts grocery store during the height of the 2021 pandemic. To see it hung as part of an exhibit in the City of San Jose, almost a year later, was a gratifying experience!
